The 99 250 I just bought has a Dana 60 up front and the previous owner put a true trac in the front. The rear also has a limited slip.
Has anyone used this setup in the snow before?
My truck never see's the off roads but takes a few trips a year up to Tahoe to go skiing with the family.
How well will this thing steer in the snow?
the true-trac is a lsd also, uses helical gears rather than clutches. but, lsd's front and rear should do excellent in the snow. IMO, only true "lockers" get dangerous in the snow.
I would love that set up. LSD's certainally beat open diffs anytime. You may need to slow down a little until you get used to the way the truck might handle. Try it out in some open parking lots to get a feel. But snow should be no problem. It's ice on sharp turns, hard throttle you need to worry about.
I'd trade you axles if it wasn't for the '99 to '07 difference. :ford:
