Is there any way to test the FICM for proper function?

I'll say it right up front. That TSB is a nice guideline, but it is hardly the end-all-be-all Ford makes it out to be. I've had several trucks that flat out would not run, and they passed every test in that TSB, before and after performing a PMI as the TSB states. If it sounds like it doesn't have fuel pressure when you try to start it, but it has fuel pressure it's probably a bad FICM.

Well the truck started acting sluggishly on me the other day and you could hear a dead cylinder due to the loud ignition knock.

I took it to my mechanic, and we did a contribution test.

7 injectors showed low contribution and #6 cylinder was dead to the world.

The injector would not respond to a buzz test.

Had the injectors sent off and tested.

Each passed with flying colors. They are less than 6 months old from being new.

Tested fuel pressure at the Horizontal Fuel Conditioning Control Module under the truck.

Pressure checks out fine.

My next process is either harness or FICM, correct?

A bad FICM will fail the buzz test, could be the wiring harness, but I would doubt it unless you park it in a barn and see mice making nests in your engine compartment. JMO
