Ok, so, I found a used Icon dual stabilizer for my 2001 Ex. Nice price too... Upon reading up on the install online, the brackets mount under the spring perches, and use the front spring u-bolt/nut assembly to secure it underneath. It says in the install, to remove the bolts, then reinstall to 120 ft/lb. and use loctite.
Is there any harm in this by loosening all 4 bolts, (one side at a time to keep the axle from shifting) and simply re-torquing? I thought that was a no-no. If this is the case....I may have this for sale and get something else.
kinda, no, yeah, not really,....you just don't want to make a habit of on/off/on/off/on/off...
the metal starts to stretch,...so ...it really depends on the condition of the u-bolts,...if they are rusty and pitted,..you may want to consider getting new ones anyways.
i have loosened lots the one time then retightened. not a problem. like tank mentioned, dont do it a bunch of times. but then again you wont be. just the once. i just did an excursion the same way.
