I called him and told him you said that. He said they were already loading it up on the trailer. He is just pumped he beat Mikey's fuel only 1/8th time.
**Correction on the 8.01, it was an 8.02, which beats Mikey's 8.03. So we now have the fastest fuel only 1/8th time.**
The difference in the times were in the 60 ft time. On the 8.02 it was a 1.70 and the 7.92 on nitrous was a 1.85 or so I will have too look on the slips they're still in the truck which is still on the gooseneck. I must say I impressed my self busting out that 1.70 in a CC/SB!
Here are the best times:
Nitrous 100 shot - 7.92 @ 87.3 MPH / 1.842 60ft / .073 R/T
Fuel - 8.02 @ 83.65 MPH / 1.702 60ft / .130 R/T
We have videos of all the runs, however the 7.92 run one of my buddies jumped in front of the camera guy and missed the last 3/4 of the run but got the scoreboard. We will get them posted up sometime this weekend or Monday.
I didn't know the track was 2 hours away. But I remember a couple 6.4s in the diesel power challenge were running the Elite pump, and couldn't compete because of it breaking. As far as trailering it to sled pulls, no thanks, I drive three hours to pull, and make fun of the guys who have to trailer their rigs in. But then again, I'm not running a modded pump, like you are, so I don't have AS much to worry about.
I have zero issues with the pump it has nothing to do with the truck being trailered, it was trailed because I didn't wanna scatter the transmission and have to walk home. If I goto a sled pull over a hour away I will trailer it as well, sory but I just don't see why its a big deal anything can break at anytime.
Its not a big deal, but I know there were 6.4s at the DPC with the elite pump, and it went out on them before they ever got to compete, so I figured that might be part of what you were worried about.
If I break and need a trailer, I can always get one. I just don't like guys pulling in the street class, and towing their trucks in, I know its smart, but leave the trailer in the parking lot, at least show your truck can be driven more than on the track, and off the track. Racing is a different story, cause I don't race.
i never ran in the 1/8th with traction bars... but my 12.80's were with 8.11 and 8.13 ... no traction bars and high temps..... i fgured john would own me.... i like my stock tranny..dont feel like grenading it quite yet.
Yea I know Mikey owned me on spray, I wanted to start out easy on the spray and only got 2 passes in on it, the first pass I tried launching on the 100 shot and spun all 4 and wheel hopped out of the hole. On the 7.92 pass I didn't start spraying until 2nd gear or about the 60ft mark. By that time they were shutting the track down and getting the "trophy class" lined up for a dial-in competition which the track officials were trying to get me run in because my truck was so consistent on fuel.
Thats one thing about these things is they are really consistant on fuel, probably on a properly set up spray too.
