Disconnecting Wastegate OK?
So I have a problem with low boost on my 38r turbo, before I start adjusting the wastegate rod can I take the c-clip off and pull the rod end off the pin and take it for a quick rip to see how much boost it will make with the wastegate staying closed? Or is that a big no-no?
Thanks, Jon

Re: Disconnecting Wastegate OK?
It won't see any boost if that line isn't hooked up... unless you have a turbomaster wastegate controller... or something similar..

Re: Disconnecting Wastegate OK?
you're saying if you disconnect the rod from the exh housing the wastegate will be left open? Makes sense as the spring holding it closed is in the diaphram

Re: Disconnecting Wastegate OK?
Disconnected red line on mine for like 7 years. 28-30 psi with stock injectors....40-42 psi with hybrids. No issues for me.

Re: Disconnecting Wastegate OK?
You'll be fine. Was pushing 14 psi with mine before unplugged the red line and now at 26-28 psi.
