I used to see that alot back in the early days of large extrude honed nozzles, some worse. I have not seen it with EDM or the newer 80,100,200 variants out there.
With good nozzles and a redline of 3300 rpms you shouldn't need to spray outside the bowls. With higher RPMs and stock bowls you may see this as a side effect of the timing required to make it work.
Yeah and powerstrokes are the only ones with the stupid lip that gets hot and starts piston cracks.....
And furthermore is everyone sure that the marks outside the bowl aren't from spraying late after quenching combustion and it isn't happening before TDC after all?
Or the guy's tyooooooning that was working with Jody for a while. :shrug:
