I'm wondering if someone has done the superduty conversion to their OBS that has the intake manifolds, spider, and uppies and stuff. would that allow me to run a 38R or TN BB turbo since it would have the later flange? How rough of an install is it? thanks for any info
just did that this weekend with a buddy on his truck, time consuming, we swapped the plenums up pipes and the drivers side manifold. put on a cfm and a 38r. also needed to weld a new flange to the downpipe for it to fit the turbo. added an intercooler and 6.0 trans cooler
i'd appreciate that smokinstroker, that's actually what i was lookin at doin was a cfm and 38R i'd like to see how that looks cause just like magnum said, someday i'd like one under the hood
I have a 38R on my '96. All I did was add 1 1/4" to each up-pipe and got a non EBPV SD pedistal. I also put my OBS axhaust housing on the 38R so my OBS down pipe also bolts right up. I ended up making my own intake but there are options there.
Just a cheaper way to do it with parts you already have.
thanks jim that would be a lot more practical and give me alot more options. i have i welder and the skills to do something like that. I would need to leave the exhaust housing (whichever i decide to go with) that comes with the 38R on it since i would like to do some stage 2's eventually right? to keep e.g.t's down?
