153mph on a 2 lane county road with a buddy behind me in his SHO Sherrifs car. I was in my 83 buick regal (413 SBC, 2.73 gears) and the frame-less windows both popped out at the same time and blew my right eardrum. It's a real b!tch to bring a car down safely with no equalibrium.
Not real sure, but the speedo on the 98 ZX9 said just under 200.
Three mile stretch back when I was indestructable and rode every single day for hours.
It actually ran faster with a one tooth smaller front sprocket than stock. Guess it was geared a little high from the factory. (yes the speedo was on the front tire, not the coutershaft so the gear change did NOT effect its readout)
Running around 140 +/- when I got to the straight stretch dropped three gears hit it WOT. couple miles later I lifted. The throttle, not my head!!! hahah
A small rock would most likely have k-rashed my crap.
Sold it soon after a small chase with the law. :tree:
He lost BTW.
Me driving.... 140 mph in a 1989 Formula 350. The speedo went to 140 mph, and so did the cop's radar gun.
Riding in someone else's car.... 160 mph in a 1987 Buick Grand National. It's a fully built 9 second turbocharged V6..... and street legal (kinda).
