After 15 years, my window tint has given up the ghost. What's easiest way folks have personal experience with? Google turns up all sorts of outlandish ideas, like covering the windows with garbage bags and soaking with ammonia....I'm leaning towards a heat gun myself.
took mine off last week ..just peeled an edge up and pulled it off slowly..came off in nearly one peace. (ammonia sound like a good way to f@!K something up
Once the film is off, Goo Gone, 3M™ Adhesive Remover, or good'ol lighter fluid on a cloth does a good job of cutting the residual adhesive off. Combine any of these with a good sharp razor blade with an appropriate blade holder.
Heat gun and razor blade took the film off without too much work. Denatured alcohol took the remaining adhesive off...Not as bad a job as it could've been.
soak it with simple green, let it sit, soak it again and the glue wipes off.
