link works for me, that whole in the hood looks like chit, I also like the drivers side mirror LOL 3 stacks??? really??

I think that it could work, but the tunning is going to be quite different than most and I see it reacting quite well to copious amounts of Nitrous. A third charger to bring the boost up might help as well. That 12 piston pumped cummins in DP mag has three, all the same charger too, hx80's.

You know, he only had about 2 weeks to get everything built and running. Considering he started with the engine sitting on the floor, built the headers without fitting in the truck, and still managed to get everything running, I'd say he did a damn fine job.

Are the stacks odd looking? You bet. As is the center intake for the turbos. I know I sure wouldn't run it on the street. But you know what? It works. He can always make it pretty later. When Johnboy did his first set of compounds, it wasn't pretty but it sure as hell ran good. Function first, form later.

But I'll tell you what... take two turbos and two weeks and let me know what you come up with. :D :poke:

Does having the opposite turbo feed the other head complicate anything? Or do I see it wrong? What turbos are you running and what kind of boost?

It's not a first. All big displacement V-type diesels use the exact same setup. In fact, I believe someone (maybe Darrell) tried this a while back on a 7.3L.

Cummins QSK38 - 1500 HP

Cummins QSK60 - 2700 HP

Are you working on the tuning Bill?
Yeah, we did a couple tunes just to get things running but honestly wasn't sure how it would respond. I'm setting up some time to go out and live tune the truck and we're gonna see just what that sucker'll do. His only issue at this point seems to be that the turbos a re a little laggy, but once they spool hold onto yer butt.

For what it's worth, I've been towing with the idea of parallel twin turbos (PTT's) for years. Everyone keeps saying "Oh, that crap won't work" or "It's not going to be efficient." Well, I disagree and I have very specific reasons why I think it'll work damn well. For the moment though, I'll keep my reasons to myself.

Darrell and I have talked at some length about this setup and I gave him some advice based on my experiences with tuning PTT's on gassers, including a drawthrough carb setup I ran on a small block 350 in an S15 Jimmy. There are several inherent advantages to running the PTT setup versus a large single and, as near as I can tell, the biggest disadvantages are cost and underhood space. Will it run as good as Compounds? Don't know yet but there's obviously going to be a limit on upper boost levels since it's still technically a single charger. Only time and tuning will tell what it's capable of.

Laterz.

Well dang I get hauled out by ambulance this morning for heart issues brought on by stress and while I am gone my parallel turbo threads blow up more....LOL

Those guys over at Comp-D just crack me up and I am actually enjoying all their post.

I will have to agree that the stack setup looks a little crazy for sure but it all got put together and running the night before the fair pulls and I just had to do something to get the smoke up and over the cab. I am planning to cut the exhast stacks down shorter and possibly remove the intake stack and put a hood scoop on.

Like Bill said, "Function first, form later".

Only issue now is this project may have to be put on the back burner after my trip to the hospital today. I have to see a heart specialist this week and I have no insurance and I can see now there is not going to be any extra money for play toys for a while.:(

I have always wondered how this setup would work. I believe it has potential. Keep us informed on how it works.
