First run of the night and I twisted my whole rear end up. The second I let go of the brake.....snap, clunk, clunk. No oil down. The brackets for the flip kit let go and snapped. We are building the whole rear suspension kit stronger and should be done by wensday and back at the track next weekend hittin the nitrous goin for 11's.
So for some one who thinks traction is an issue with a 2wd diesel that isn't 4 linked and big drag slicks....... not if they are set up. By next weekend I'll have my full billet Suncoast installed and a one piece drive shaft and hoops, hopefully staying in one piece lol.
Here's a link to the pics Dirty Diesel posted Will a 2WD with Slicks and caltracs Hook............ - TheDieselGarage.com I'm not sure if you'll be able to see the pics. I don't have any of my own to post myself. I have a vid I'll post up later of me tip toeing past the line once my sister emails it to me.
moremph , a member here did that in a 4wd sledpulling. the pinion and axle tub joint is only tack welded..ive been meaning to get to weweld's shop and have him spin a bead.... but you are getting full power to the rear, so the load is even that much worse. congrats though, on putting enough power to it to twist it!! carnage = cool !!
Carnage is cool. She's getting the Alberta Seal of approval for overbuilt when it's fixed, ready to handle the extra torque I'll get to the wheels with the new tranny and one piece drive shaft.
I'm so excited to drive it with the new tranny :evil I went with the Suncoast instead of the NADP like I had told you cuz the Suncoast has a billet upgrade and NADP didn't. The guy from Suncoast told Rob at Dirty Diesel I won't like driving around townLOL I can hardly wait:evil..... probably my most anticipated mod since the Spartan tuner
Here's the vid. I bet that HEMI thought he had somethin goin on for a second. You can see when I go from pre to stage how I bounce around in the cab. That was when I knew something wasn't gonna break.
seen some pics of it on the garage... sorry mike... looks much better they welded a spring purch on the bottom and it has u bolts and a regular top plate just everything is reversed now, just the only thing i dont like about spring under is the u-bolts have to carry the wieght of the truck as well as the twisting force on the axle. No way around it really, just big u bolts.
Looking forward to the full pass results. Good luck!
