took some friends and the truck to numidia dragway this weekend for the nadm event: sled pulls, drag racing, and dyno. the promoters announced that they want some spectaters to come out of the stands and pull in the 2.6 clean diesel challange. no smoke with the farthest distance wins. i down loaded the truck back to stock. i also had the edge still in the truck that i was only using for a monitor,so i cranked that up alittle, made sure i didnt have any smoke(power braking).blah,blah. i still had the ficm tuning, and other advancements on the truck that gave me an edge! so i was 4th pulled on the track they latched me up and i pulled a 224 clean. i won the class and took home 1000$ in prize money!!!!!!!! just for kicks there was about 3 dodges and 3 chevys that didnt even take the sled over 150. figured you guys might be interested? thanks for looking! kyle.
what about the dodge that went 300+ feet without smoking but when he let off at the end he blipped the throttle as he pushed the clutch in and a nice puff came out.
its all good tho, I am glad a less modified truck won it, that guy had a SERIOUS truck that he just turned down to his lowest settings and it still pumped smoke when he hit the throttle. heck he had already won the 2.6 and 2.8 classes!

that is what got him.
good job kyle, i was glad ya made it, i was the one who weighed ya in and checked the hitch, glad to see some people taking advantage of this class that we run. i would have run if i was not working
yea that was black ice. i didnt even count him only because they shouldnt have let him pull in that class. if i didnt have the wheel hop likr i did i wouldve done alot better, i had to back out of it alittle bit to get it under control. i had alot more to give i just coundnt use it!
i have watched him at some of our recent pulls. it still baffles all of us how this 2.6 truck can only put out a haze and beat some of the top 2.6 trucks in the midwest. i teched him saturday morning again as like every other time it is all clean and legal. but ya that is about all his truck does everytime down the track
can i hear nitrous. people can be very sneaky!!!!! if i wanted to run nitrous illegaly. you would not find it. youd be very suprised at what someone could hide!!!!!
hey i woundnt have even had a problem with black ice running in that class, let me hang weight and turn my truck back up and then we will see. you cant take it away from him(black ice),his truck ran great. other than the fact that he was a cocky azz hole, but thats beside the point. i agree with who ever said here that he had already won the 2.6&2.8. what the frig. i would in a second go head to head with him next year, cause i got some goodies in the making that will be on for next year
umm no, we tore the whole interior of that truck apart and turned the truck upside down. no nitrous. period if you go over on comp d there is an ongoing debate about it. he claims it is all in the tuning and turbo, i can't say anymore
no offense but there isnt a 6.0 out there that is can hang with a truck that runs like that in the 2.6 or 2.8 class. get all the goodies you want, that truck will still put it on the fords.
find me a 2.6 or 2.8 legal 6.0 that makes 700+ hp on fuel only, no drugs, no twins.
hell i only have a little over 600hp and i have yet to find a 6.0 that can beat me, and i have ran against two of them that are built and not street legal 3.0 class pullers. i can put 20-30 feet on them and i only run a 2.8 charger...(also beat them when i had the 2.6 charger on there)
i hope your not to pissed when u come up wrong. just because theres know one now, doesnt mean that when your not lookin someone will come up with there truck and bite you in the azz!!!! dont be disapointed.
LMAO...nobody is scared of a 6.0 on the pulling track.
come on down to the buck anytime, im always there, and its also $250 up for grabs. i think a 6.0 got 3rd once this year...but then again that was the week some of the better running trucks were down at TS, the next time when we showed up the 6.0 was back around 7-8th place. at least he has balls to try it in that class, only 2 fords even give it a shot and no duramaxes have the sack to step up.
I forget all the distances, but the judging was based on a combination of smoke and distance. At the end, all 3 of us had it between 2 trucks. A silver 3rd gen that literally didn't smoke at all but only went 191 ft. and Kyle who barely puffed a haze the first couple feet getting started and was totally clean the rest of the way and went 229 ft.
All the rest of the trucks had some sort of smoke going down the track.
tj your truck runs for sure. i know you dont need to worry about pine knoll. heck i am usually 15ft or so from them. and i will have hopefully 100 more horsepower next time i pull against them on the 31st. i will say though if she would shift it would do better, same for the red d-max of mike hartmans. of course he is actually missing 4th and 5th.
hey have you ever pulled against bob franz? i did a couple times the other week. that thing runs pretty good.
yea i pulled against them at fredericksburg, put about 25' on pine knoll, and made the pull off with franz and the other black 6.0 (kickin azz)
i didnt have a fire suit so franz whined like a baby and got me kicked out of the pull off. he was afraid i was gonna take his points...sad part is that i was running a 2.6 charger in an unlimited single class and ran right with them.
i have a full fire suit now and will be back when i have a free weekend for sure.
they wont bring the pine knoll truck to the buck because they didnt write the rules specifically for his truck up there. they allow duallies to run, must be a 2.8 charger, 26" hitch, and they dont allow the bottle to be run.
i am suprised kickin azz made it to the pull off w/ yall. i have been right on his azz all season, 6" behind him twice and now that he got better programin he got me by 6'. i am goin after them guys now though:evil
The 2.6/ 2.8 is that a measurement in inches of the compressor wheel?
So I guess w/ a GT42r w/ a 102mm wheel I'm not even close I guess? Maybe they should offer a handicap rule for the 7.3s regarding turbo sizes to help tighten up the competition? I'm sure I'll get smacked for that one!
I guess a short lightweight truck like mine is at a distinct disadvantage as well?
the classes are measured by the inducer on the inlet side of the compressor, like some people i have HEARD OF using stepped turbos that would use a bigger turbo, but with a smaller front inducer, or bushing
