well my friend has an 04 he's been having problems with it randomly not starting, the problem began after installing an sct with elites tunes but i don't think the programming has anything to do with it. He installed a new IPR and it ran for a month now it randomly won't start again. it won't start either hot or cold. I read that you can put compressed air into the ICP hole or you can do it in the HPO log. my question is i also read that you need to change the duty cycle is this necessary or will compressed air be enough
Have you pulled any codes? I would use a scan tool like auto engenuity to monitor HPOP while cranking to see if you are getting atleast 500 psi. If you are, then your problem lies elsewhere. Maybe wire chafing is screwing with the FICM. A good diagnostic program like AE will save you tons of time and guessing.
i've told him to get a scanner but he doesn't want to spend the money on it right now. I told him to check the cables from the sensors to the FICM, but i don't think he' began tearing it apart yet. do you have to change the duty cycle to do the air test
your supposed to command the IPR closed (increase duty cycle%) for the air test
