i would go afe on the intake, especially if he wants to upgrade his turbo later on. thats the intake most companys recommend for their turbos. as for glow plugs i have no idea.
Intake, i have S&B and love it. as for the CCV reroute, ive got everything i need to do mine, just need to actually do it. Just make sure you plug the intake tube hole where the CCV comes in and then run a 5/8 diameter hose (5/8 innner dia) down and ziptie it along the frame rail.
Go with afe- like was said all the performance shops recommend them with their turbo upgrades so I honestly doubt s&b is anything better than afe except cheaper and some things you should not be cheap on
As for glow plugs go with WAPs, Inc (wellman auto products, iirc) they are priced right and most of their employees are handicapped people that want to work not just draw a monthly check. they are the gp supplier to the US military and light the quickest and hottest. do a search for their website and read it.
Brad either way you AFE and S&B are good intakes, but i like my S&B. some people will just tell you whatever because its opposite of what someone else says. Case in point like Harley Edition did to Adam

Absolutely not- I try to only speak facts ol' buddy. You show me one real performance shop that says "use a cheap azz s&b with our turbos because they're just as good"...SHOW ME! And don't wait for daddy to pm you some more basement resellers and I'll admit I'm wrong but until then keep your mouth shut up about what I say. See you can look right here, go ahead, click on ANY turbo and see what it says. And as I said, a "real performance shop" not a basement resell store. Show me- Put up or shut up- one or the other
As for the filters- I wouldn't run nothing, absolutely nothing except Afe ProGuard 7 filters. No matter what you don't go cheap on filtration (air, fuel, and oil), turbos, nor injectors if you want a good runnin truck- especially if you're modifying it. If you want to go cheap then you can do it on the exhaust not what was mentioned.
Stroker67 please tell me what you've done to make you such an authority on what's best for these trucks- you run an Edge and anyone that knows anything knows that's a piece of garbage so I find you saying anything in a "what's better" discussion questionable other than to and repeat what your buddy says :shug: Off note how far are you from Elizabethtown KY?
Well Liberator is dissapointing. My buddy is running out to Carlisle today to get the Heads, EGR delete, and head studs. When my friend called tues to orded the parts they said they had everything in stock, said everything would be here wed or thurs. He called yesterday(friday), they said they just got heads back from machine shop and they were going to ship out later that day. So not to get them tues(he lives in Illinois, and needs to get back) he is going out to liberator to pick them up ,they are closed today but the secratary gave him her house number to and told him to call when he gets in to Carlisle. At least their secretary has good customer service
got the truck back together today. BUT... now when he fired it up, there is coolant dripping fromn the driversside head gasket . It is at the very front and the very rear. Looks like it is leaking from the copper rivits that hold the gasket together. Any ideas? Rut it and retourque head studs?
