Hey Guys,
Just looking for some feed back on some tires, looking at Mickey Thompson ATZ's in 37x13.5r18 and Dick Cepek FC IIin a 36x15.5r18. In the end it'll come down to what I can get a better deal on...just looking for experience with either tire in all conditions.
Also i'm sitting at 6.5" of lift and my wheels have 3.75" of backspace
Been running the ATZs for about 15000km s, Wearing nice and their quiet. Good on rain soaked roads, And not bad in the snow, The sipes help that out. Had the Mickey MTZs (??) didnt wear evenly. Only knock on ATZs, is truck tends to wonder back and forth a bit, but could just be my truck and highway conditions, (highways pretty "dished" up here with huge loads going up to Fort Mac.)
I run the Cepeks F-CII for my winter set up, and they are the best tire that I have ran on my OBS crew cab. I have almost 70k miles on them w/ 1/4 tread left. I cant seem to wear these things out, even with doing a ton of smokie burn-outs. I turned 11 people on to these tires by showing them how mine are wearing. I'll send ya some pics of mine. For the summer set I run the Cepek Crusher, they are wearing the same way. If you click on my profile you will see a pic of the crusher tire. The ATZs are great tires too, the Cepeks are made by Mickey Thompson.
I've had the crushers for 2yrs and about 18k mi on them, but I only run them in the summer because I don't want to get any road salt and de-icer on the chrome plated rims. So I have a set of FC-II on some fully polished wheels for winter. The crushers handle amazing on the road and they are pretty quiet for how aggressive the tread is.
Too late!, those do look good though, the wide ones I could get for a much better deal, and I like the look of a fat tire, just gotta wait 3 weeks for them to get in now
They haven't lost any tread, they still have a little nipple on the edges of the tread from those little rubber hairs. The key is to keep up on the tire rotation. The tread looks pretty cool they are supposed to be broken bones and the side wall has scull and cross bones. Look in my profile and i have a pic of that tire and the rim i run with them. I have turned so many people on to the cepeks just by showing mine off and telling how many miles they have. They really are a great tire, like i was saying their made by
Mickey Thompson. So they got some good quality behind the name
