ok guys im thinking about dropping the truck down to 35 and maybe a 3 inch.
right now im on a 6" and 37's buts the problem is im geared with 4:30's so would i be running to high on the highway rpm's wise ect. or do yall think the truck would be ok?
All I know is the next truck I buy I am making sure it doent have 4:10 gears On the highway now with the 1.0 housing I cant get but 15 mpg going 75 running 2500 rpms it sucks.
Just got back from San Diego and got 13.7 out and back. That's at 8 over the posted limit (From 73 to 83).. 2800 RPM's on the higher speed. 4.30 gears are great for towing but bite for topend or mileage...
Actually now that a think about it, 35s on a 4.30 will turn lower rpms than a 4.10 stock tired truck, so i dont see a problem at all with the 430s. With the rpms of a 6.0, i think itll actually be faster in teh 1/4.
Tuning adjustments for tires and gears are easy, and i can actually leave some adjustment in there for you.
i was actually calculating it out last night and it is looking like its right at 4:06:1, so i might be in luck!
im sure once i get this transmission in there we will be able to have alot more fun ands see what #'s she can really put down chris! (if i ever find my sct) might have to take you up on that offer of getting a new one.
maybe i will just have to slow down a bit and deal with it, would be nice to get some better mileage
