I just got through spending almost 700 on four full sweepers and quad pod but would like to add an oil temp and pressure along with voltometer. How good are the short sweep do they hold pretty accurate and are they sufficent. What are you guys running....???? Short sweep are so much more easier on the pocket if you know what I mean.
Talk to me boys. Out of the 8 that have viewed this post nobody has gauges????????????????????? Need to know so I can start borrowing money from some of ya if a need to go Full sweep on the restLOL
well now that I have everything all hooked up I can tell you the answer to my question sometime back.. Short sweepers suck ass so how bout that for your non replies. sure they all basically serve the same purpose but full are just complete packages shorts are a PITA!!!
the full come complete with full wiring harness and plug and play senders as for the short you have to fab all your wiring and connections. they work just fine just a bit more in the installation and after I bought what I needed to install them I almost could have just purchased the full sweep....
You should reread my post as I stated my 4 full sweeps were a breeze to install had every thing. Now for my 4 short sweeps all they had were the gauge, senders and fittings no wire what so ever. They are Autometer Phantom II's this means you have to wire it for the lighting (2 wires) the 12v source, and then the sender and ground. Now by my calculations thats 5 wires per gauge not so fun. Every gauge was purchased brand new and cost me right at 1000 for all eight plus pods. Now then if your saying I should have had a wiriing harness with each gauge then I must have gotten ####ed..... But I dont believe it's the case guys...You are getting full sweep confused with the short sweeps
my short sweeps came with everything, the only thing i had to have was a wire to run for my trans temp, which thanks to my dad working for AEP as a line mechanic, we have all kinds of electrical wire laying around
Now that sucks cause I'm not big on wiring up sh#% if ya know but I got them all hooked up and love them. I was just like damn I know what I got and these guys tell'n me otherwise. I ordered two off ebay and two off autoanything for the short sweeps.. After hooking up 8 gauges and then all that damn recon lighting I am a bit touchy no offense.....
ya think!! I wished you guys had of responde like this whe I asked this question about 2 mo's ago.... I did'nt see an option for a wiring harness for short sweeps.... Anyway it's all said and done I love what I got just had to put in a lil work.....
well..all of those are electric..but I think there are two different versions, cause all of those gauges have a more expensive big brother..those must come with the wiring, thus why you only have 1k in gauges
Those are the only short sweep part numbers available on autometer's website. I checked three or four times before purchasing. The only big brothers out there would have been the full sweep gauges in which I did purchase for my boost, trans, pyro and fuel pressure... Show me the link to the short sweeps that have wiring harnesses and keep in mind these are autometer phantom II's.. and I am actually at $1300 I just checked my reciepts
Well I kinda went a lil overboard from my original build up. I purchased the 4 full sweepers and started having problems with my alt so I opted for the cheaper short sweep voltometer to just monitor a lil better. After considering mounting options for it I opted for the windsheild quad pod and decided to go ahead and add 3 more so in an effort to make it look more uniform I went with all short sweeps on the others. As I stated earlier that was a mistake and I wished I had just ordered all full sweepers...
nah, I have enough damn grey and charcoal tones it is almost depressing. Thought the black would accent some of the other black on the dash including bezel......
