hey

so my body and frame are doing quite well... currently and i want to protect them for the future... i have a 5 year loan.. i need more then 5 years out of the truck. ha ha ha anyways. i have done some undercoating in the past.. using the spray cans from walmart.. 3M rubberized undercoating. BUT that stuff's 8 bucks a can.

i know back in the day, they used, used engine oil and just sprayed everything down with it... once it was clean and scuffed to get surface rust off. but i havnt ever done it before.

so what do you guys think?? sand the frame with a wire brush and spray with undercoating... or sand... then spray with used engine oil??

I would use the rubberized under coating. The used oil will just attract a lot of dirt and grime and look worse.

It may look worse but a 50/50 combo of oil and diesel in a spray gun will work too.
