I have a dyno sheet from over a year ago showing 531hp with a 38R
That was on a Dynocom dyno that was at least 60+ horsepower high though. As good as that 38R and Mini Me's ran in my truck, it wasn't quite the 530hp that dyno told me it was
Muley's truck runs great. I met up with him about a month ago at the 1/8th mile strip down by where he lives and that truck runs awesome. Hey stroker what were your numbers before when you had that stock turbo?
I didn't know that everybody makes that kind of power on a 238 hybrid with small nozzles and stock oil. Why isn't this quoted more often? Everyone always says that the 38r is only good for 450hp.....
I am a little late chiming in but that dyno sheet looks about the same as mine. Peaked at 529/1175 and after that shift @490/1050. You guys know the Mule, 075 DDP B codes, 38R 1.0 housing, terminator pumps... fuel system, stock long block.
This sheet may be too small to see but here is my 500 run.
On the old stock turbo and with the stock fuel pump at WOT I was barely getting 24 lbs of boost and fuel pressure was dropping to 20psi I got 360hp on a DynoDynamics
Didn't David say there wasn't a lot of crazy porting done to those heads either? All these numbers are impressive, it sure seems like the heads are really helping it.
I remember many times people stating that porting was not worth the effort (one thread back on TDS Charles was very vocal on this subject) but the turbo books I have read actually said that porting makes a BIGGER difference on a turbo charged motor because the amount of air your trying to flow is higher.
My truck is completely smoke free (like stock truck smoke free) after a very brief spool up time all while completely emptying B codes at around 48# of boost. I'd like to think the 5# of metal we pulled out of the heads made a difference there. We didn't do it for the weight savings thats for sure!
The problem is that all this smoke free hp and reasonable boost is making we want to pull those injectors and get a little more ass out of them. Doh! Must leave it alone. Must leave it alone.
