help identifying electrical connection

Truck is 2004. Looking at the top of the engine with 12’oclock being where the turbo is there is a cream colored electrical connector about 1” from the oil filter housing at about the 10 o’clock position.

Does anyone know what this plug is for?

I ask because during reassembly the clip was brittle and snapped off. Right now I fashioned a clamp that picksup from a oil filter housing bolt and captures that connector but I don’t trust it. I’m planning on super gluing the connector together and adding a pigtail to the harness.

In the mean time if I run into an engine problem I want to be able to know if it’s possibly related to that loose connector.

Thanks

It's plastic, cream colored and oriented vertically. With no metal retainer, just hte little plastic tab that broke off.
