I seriously doubt you could tell a difference after it was installed, and most guys would have no use for it anyways, as it won't fit their larger turbos.
If you're using the stock turbo, that money would be better spent on an ATS compressor housing or a wicked wheel, etc.
Just looking at it, isn't there a good deal of restriction in the factory one going down into the "Y"? Not to say it'd be worth the $400 to change, but just at an exterior glance it does look a bit pinched down?
