OK guys I need some help on this one. I have searched and found the above definition for the code. The other posts I have seen on this claim there truck is running ok. I have noticed a couple post that their fuel gauges will go to dashes and report Empty when it is not. Mine has done this twice now put what really concerns me is that my truck is not running right. My EGT's are up and whenever I hit the loud pedal I am blowing a LOT of black smoke. Lag time from hitting the fuel pedal to response has gotten longer. Yesterday from about a 40mph roll getting on the the Intersate it rolled in to the accelerator and it took at least 3-5 seconds to respond.
No my turbo vanes aren't sticking. I have an 03 turbo that is only about 6 months old.
Anybody have an idea as to what I should look at at here? Something is definitely out of whack.
From the description of the code, your regulator is stuck at maximum volume. i'd check the wiring to and from the regulator/pcm. As far as the no throttle response, not sure if it is related or not. But the excessive EGTS/black smoke are definitely related.
a 6.0l has no way for the PCM to monitor fuel pressure..the regulator is mechanical..i think that code is bogus..there are a few that come up on 6.0's like that..
if you blow alot of smoke whenever you hit the pedal, you have a bad injector..
The truck has 73k on it. How do I run a cylinder contribution test on this thing. I was trying to hold off on injectors till I could do head studs, injectors and Adams EGR delete. May all have to happen sooner than I planned.
Auto Enginuity. It is a program that you load onto a laptop to run diagnostics.
It is a good program and not too expensive.
