edge evolution programmer

Got a free edge evolution programmer and I installed it on my truck. I set it to extreme with a 10% firmer shift. My truck came alive and shifts firmer. Did I set it properly or would have you done it differently. I have a stock straight piped truck. Thanks for the suggestions
