Ok truck is still having trouble starting and I have pin pointed it down to the starter now. I know that there was a post before about starters but I can't find it now.
What is a good starter to put on the truck? What do ya'll think? I don't just want to throw one on there.
what is your truck doing? mine is rolling over real slow even though both battieries have 12.7 volts, also im getting 12.3 volts at the hot starter wire while its trying to crank over. It turns over like i woul have very weak batteries. think mines a starter issue?
That is exactly what mine was doing. Put an new starter in and boy howdy it fires with just a touch of the key now.
Pulled the old starter and the cap on the back was half way off. The bolt head holding the cap on was broke off and the other bolt was loose.
Glad I have a new starter. No worries now.
Also have two new batteries, new GP relay, and now new starter.
