Eliminating the RABS Valve
Has anyone eliminated the RABS Valve? If so, post some pics. Also what is your opinion of the elimination. Did it set any codes or illuminate any dash lights?
Thanks Billy T. gnxtc2@aol.com

Re: Eliminating the RABS Valve
It will set a code and ABS light. I have built a bypass line before for testing. Not too bad to do it you can flare brake line or get correct size adapters to adapt a short premade line. Bypass it and keep it plugged in and the computer will never know.

Re: Eliminating the RABS Valve
What is the reason for doing this? I had a leak in the outgoing line right by the fitting, it set off the ABS light until I replaced the whole line and fixed the leak.

Re: Eliminating the RABS Valve
$$$$$ and RABS isnt true pulsating ABS. it dumps the pressure to the rear brakes in the event of the rear wheels locking up. ie. NO BRAKES when youre trying to STOP.
a reman valve, my cost, is over $100. if i can bypass it for a few bucks, or disable it for free (remove spring?) then i will. it will give me true, non ABS, stop when you mash the pedal, brakes. and that I like. |

Re: Eliminating the RABS Valve
Wish you could do that with a 6.0 but as soon as you pull the fuse you loose your speedo

Quote:
un do the connector under glove box. single wire. one end its red, other is black with orange tracer. ground black wire for a cpl seconds and ABS light will start flashing. count the flashes, including the last long one. |
