Ya so finally my ride sharded a couple weeks ago and I said efit and decided its time to move forward with the build. I have received tons of info from this site and just want to share my experience through the process for those that are interested.
Crowers
Coated lower compression pistons
Ported heads
Studs
Pushrods
Filled block
Injectors are b codes with some swamp touches.
DI toonsh.
GT42 turbo
Di headers also
Well I probably will have the motor before the end of the month. The good guys at Swamps have to measure this and measure that, then measure it all over agian so they can measure something.. hahaha
But I wouldnt have it any other way.. I am all about doing things the right way the first time. Things are progressing nicely.
IMO...if it's built right, tuned right...you don't need one. But I understand those that put one in. Can't really argue against having one if you decide to do it.
Well you have to draw the line somewhere right? I mean if I did a girdle or bed plate where do you stop?
Im not after the HP or 1/4 mile record or anything like that... Just want a built motor that will last and be reliable with a few more horsees than I had with the stock motor.
One of the main things the girdle does is add strength and rigidity.. ? The headers sound badass, but you could can that idea now, and do something now thats not so easy to do later on..
a plate girdle...I can swing into this build....have a few (dozen?) spares from the last round of machining. :evil
