good deal, sure would make a sweet little drag truck with some money into it, cut down the bed, 05 conversion on the front, some rims n tires and power.
Finally got it home last night. Doesn't have a PCM in it, missing Alternator, missing coolant overflow bottle, no batteries. Very bad looking oil. Writing on the door window, left for cops that saw it on the side of the interstate where it broke down, "Broke down, sending trailer to pick up - DO NOT TOW"
So well see what happens.......
I bought as I wasn't interested in the motor, I was looking for a 6.0 2wd with a manual tranny. I asked the guy specifically if it was a manual as he had it listed. He replied that it was a manual tranny. I drive 4 hours to pick it up and it has an auto in it. Now I am pissed. The original agreed price was $1975. I tell him I don't want it and I'm leaving. He asked what I would give him for since I was standing there and he just wanted it out of his lot and off his hands. I say I would maybe give you $500, but I don't really want the truck. So he comes back with, "It's yours I just want it gone!"
I am going to get the missing parts put on it today and well see what happens when I turn the key. For all I know the motor could be locked up solid.
Got all the parts on it but I didn't notice that they had robbed the tensioner pulley and an idler pulley. So I can't put the belt on. Anyways cycled the glow plugs twice and she started right up. I shut it down right away as i don't have a belt on it. But hey she runs!!!!!!! How well is still left to be seen. The parts I need are at my other shop and I won't be able to get them until after work.
Drove the old girl that last couple of days. Right now she needs a water pumps as it leaks very badly. Have to fill it up with water before I take it for a drive.
Anyways I put my Harley rims on it with the 35 inch tires and she looks night and day better.
Man this thing fun is to drive. I have the computer out of my other truck in it right now so she has the same tune. I think I need to put my spool in the rear end as she spins the tires to easily. I took it across the scales today as it feels way lighter than my crew cab....She weighed in right at 6200 pounds and that is with the big tires.
If your looking to get rid of those wheels JJ let DJ know hes looking for a set of good stock wheels.
