does anyone have a pic of a hood stack on a ford, or directions on doing it so it looks nice, it'd save 50lbs of exhaust weight.LOL:doh:, i have a number in mind to hit this year if it holds together:doh:
I don't know about drag racing, but in most sled pulling events, your exhaust must exit straight up. Makes sense that it would be that way in drag racing as well, since I don't think most people would want shrapnel coming at them when a turbine lets go, or something internally happens in the engine.
most all of the hood stacks you guys see on the cummins are done with a twin turbo setup. the stock location of the turbo on a cummins is too far back i can't imagine trying to do it on a ford. unless your running twins or can find a way to mount your turbo backwards so the exhaust point to the front of the truck i can't see it happening
This is absolute proof to me that diesel billys and ricer trash are one and the same. There is no difference whatsoever between a Honda Accord with a 10" fart can sticking out the back, and a diesel billymobile with a chromed out 10" exhaust tip sticking out of their hood. None! Zero! Zilch! Nada!
why not just go with a single stack out the back. you will cut a lot of your weight compared to what you got know. good luck and cant wait to see you run :ford:
Most guys run a couple of 90's off the turbo and place the stack where they want it. I'm not really familiar with a 6.0, but I know you could do it. Might have to relocate a few things. Prolly wouldn't work very well if you still have AC... :hehe:
besides the weight loss I believe there is a formula for every 90* angle you lose x amount of HP or something? not to sure. All I know is I want one big black 6 inch stack. Mitre cut.
on a side note that is one mean lookin dodge.
