yes the diesels launch hard but the electric car will launch harder because unlike a gas or diesel engine electric motors have a LOT of torque, they put out about 85 percent of their full capability almost immediately instead of having to turn rpms such as a Gasser.
thier is that guys website pretty cool car, He is using Two motors bolted together, The controller he uses allows him to launch in series for maximum torque and then at part track it calculates and switches over to parallel for max horse power.
Pretty trick setup, Have done a little work on electric cars and the are definatly odd, but a thing of the not so distant future
yea i know what you mean my dad has a hybrid ford escape and i was all against it but i drove it to Houston TX from st. Louis and the fuel bill wasn't hardly anything as it got a steady 35 mpg at 75 plus mph ! although many people would hate this idea, that technology coupled with a diesel in our trucks would make for one hell of a tow/ very economical truck.
if it was based off of the same idea that the hybrid escape is it would be as the escape is a 90 hp gas motor and 120 electric hp. so take an 08, rated 350 hp, plus a few hundred electric, plus an sct tune or spartan LMAO
