I seen this pump the other day and thought i would share. I called and talked to Joe Scheid's and they said its from a Mack. The base price of the pump is $4700. He sait that they can put 14mm plungers in it and it will flow 1000cc per cyl. They don't have any info on any other parts like front cover, gear train or injector sleeves. He said that he was going to get with WOE and see about prices.
I'm not ready to give up on the HEUI just yet, but later on down the road when my truck turns into a 3.0+ class truck, its an option.
Hell, if someone made a reasonably priced conversion kit to turn a Stroke into a common rail that used the Cummins style injectors it seems to me they would make a killing.
Yeah! Then you could have the best of both worlds, without the oil problem with the HEUI. There have been some 12V guys say to me, that they wish they could go from a vary respectable street truck to a fuel belching power house with a flip of a switch. . I like Electronic tuning.
1. CR conversion kit is $15K - complete said it many times that is what it takes to install the injectors, run the injection lines, install dual CP3s the wiring, computer, EFI Live, etc....
2. Mark my words one day everyone will realize that the current CR technology suffers from the same issues as the HEUI system does. IT has its limits, but they just happen to be higher in the power levels than the HEUI before you really start to root them out.
I prefer an inline 8 cylinder pump myself. It give you more room in the valley to work with the runners going into the heads to help improve your airflow. I have seen engines set up both ways, I just like the inline version better.

I didn't realize those high HP Cummins weren't street friendly. The points made about being able to have a street friendly truck that becomes a race truck at the flip of a switch are good ones.
The ONLY limit to the CR's potential is the ECM rev limiter. And judging from the recent developments that is about to change. The gap between HEUI and CR technology is about as close as it will ever be.
And trust me, 800 hp CR's are more streetable than a 500 hp. 7.3 or 6.0

And it holds its own most of the time in the 3.0 class. It wouldn't stand a chance against a mechanical dmax in the same class. And it definately won't run with the true mod trucks no matter how many turbos you put on it.
thier is a new stand alone controler available soon from bosch that is supposedly capable of fueling to 6000 rpm. It was on display at pri on a schied built motor with a somewhat streetable set of twins that made 1050 hp on the engine dyno
There will be a nonBosch stand alone soon for about half that and will do 7000rpms if the injection system would let it. Will say it has not been installed and tested yet though but is almost done.
There are two Bosch ECM's. One that will only handle 6 cylinders and the other that does 8 cylinders. The 8 cylinder version is $8500 and I was told it can deliver fuel to 8000 RPM. They had a Schied's CR motor at PRI with the 6 cyl box on it and it produced over 1000 Hp according to them. They said they would be back with a few new CR parts and it should go closer to 1400 Hp they felt with the new parts.
The pump is off of a DV-800 engine. I got this rebuilt pump for $600. I've got a spare T444E that I am going to mount it on. Then I will pull the Powerstroke out of the truck and swap this one in. I am still a long way away from worring where I am going to mount my turbo(s). I still have to finish pulling the T444E out of the International truck it is in (damn cold weather). I have thought about swaping the ag gov to a truck gov for now because I would like to be able to drive it on the street a little bit. My plans are to build it up in stages from stock engine and turbo with p-pump to a totally built engine. I want to learn as much as I can from this and I think this will be the best approach. I still don't know what I am going to use for injectors. I am going to talk to a pump shop and see what injectors they think will be best and have the most room to grow with. Anybody know of a place that does custom injector tips?
True. But for competition use only that would be way to go I think. But how you have yours mounted off to the passenger side would be the way to go if you had to have a radiator.
Some 3.0" truck pulling rules require a radiator of at least stock size in the stock location.
