So i just did my elite diesel egr delete and cfm+ intake elbow, and have the h&s mini maxx, with the high sulfur tunes, and asked if the emissions is deleted which i have chose yes. But, it goes into limp mode for some reason and im confused as too why its doing this? i do have the dpf/cat delete as well. it ran like a mother a few days ago then when i got back from workit started the limp, restarted it ran fine, shut it off for an hour and went to drive again and it did the limp again. im confused could use some real help guys
sure most would need a little more info to help ya out. temps, pressures ect.. I have you checked the exhaust back pressure sensor? and also check to make sure you didnt knock any needed senors/connectors loose while doing the delete.
i know for sure my coolant temps are running about 188 deg. im not sure about the other ones, i made sure tonight that none of the sensors are still in in the exhaust. and there are no bungs on the dpf/cat delete. and i went through and checked all the sensors that are suppose to be intact and made sure they we're in tight. sometimes i will run strong and other time it just hesitates then kicks and then it will limp again.
and im throwing the usual egr codes, throttle position sensor code, and an unkown one, 3 egr codes, throttle position code, and the unknown so total of five. and i shouldnt have to clear them everytime i start my truck correct? and idk if this matters with this issuse but my t-states are junk, and rad is leaking, i have a new vista pro rad, new t-stats and coolant filtration kit just havent done it yet
Yeah i didnt think it should throw any codes beings the tuner should over ride those codes and erase them? and i need to update to the april update would this help at all? and how do i go about getting the tunes rewritten?
It doesn't work like that if you unplug something got to tell it, its not there anymore. I think its more of your intake elbow then anything, but I could be wrong. there are many places that can write you a custom tune personally I've had good luck with RCD and Innovative. I personal don't care for KEM.
but when the tuner asks if the egr emissions system is there and i said no should that be enough? and im guessing imma have to ship out my tuner or sd card to do so? and i dont like how the cfm+ elbow mounts to the adapter plate and then its to short to reach the cac pipe so you have to use two boots and a middle connector, never ver brillant but what would be wrong with my intake elbo? and the cfm+ elbow is for the 6.0, thats why elite sends an adapter plate, but with the elbow i got a gasket the covers the whole bottom of the elbow with the 4 bolt holes and obviously the hollow part, and with the adapter it came with two rubber circle gaskets that sit down in the adapter. i was suppose to put the big gasket from cfm+ on along with the rubber gasket was i??????
I have been hearing about the mcc, that makes it so i can control every aspect of the motor and electronics correct? and is the on the new update or a code i have to buy?
And this is weird but when my truck does the limp i will put it in neutral shut the truck off, restart with the throttle pressed to the floor and it starts and revs to 3500rpm, i let off and she runs 80% after that. still hesitates a bit but a ton better than when i first started.......so whats that all about?
ok i fixed her....i decided to unistall the tuner and set it back to all stock. of course it wouldnt start because the egr delete. I then reinstalled the tuner and went through the whole process of installing and setting all my stuff up, and wouldnt you know no more codes, no more wrench symbol, no more hesitation. Its like a completely different truck! thanks for all the input guys
i helped a friend do the dpf delete on his truck and we just unhooked all the sensors on his exhaust ( cuz his new one had no bungs) and set up the programmer to tell it we did delete the dpf and it went into limp mode after like 40 miles and we ended up welding the bungs back into the exhaust and hooked all the exhaust sensors back up then it ran/still runs just fine
Thats right too. Extreme Litet throw the soft codes to
U0115 and U0110 If you have that batch.Communication issues. They dont show up I deleted EGR and used charge pipe with intercooler pipe. Got tired of fighting the tunes and switching to what was somewhat ok then have it run off in the woods on me. Gotta get the files tweaked for 9625OR or remove charge pipe and weld valve open. Its a bitch to drive them when half of your power just got out at the red light.
Yeah I try alot of everything and never get anywhere. Just pulled the elbow off and put the stock unit on with everything but the valve itself is back on and plugged in. It dosent stumble and hesitate before gears in the lower tunes, but after a few minutes it loses power and is sluggish. Seems like its working way to hard for such low speeds. I am returning to stock again and going back to the other device with the older firmware and tunes without adjusting capabilities. They are better for some reason. I have a appt Monday. Hope they can decipher this on going battle. Im leaning towards computer issues combined with the tunes not syncing. I hope Mon they have the ability to flash the ECM PCM and maybe I dont have something thats needed to sync correctly. There has to be some reason ! The preloaded stuff seems fine, just nothing to talk about really. No CEL or any codes but the communication soft codes. U0115 and U0100 x 2.... That has to be a flash issue and not current. I dont know. Tired of the constant problem. Tune or pullover everyday and wasting 24 min each time. Ready for the crap to end.
Nah. 1 or the other tho...Just went and tried to run a custom tune that is loaded without having to adjust or answer anything. It ran like crap too. I pulled over after 15-20 miles. Turned it off. Waited about 10 min, then I thought aboit unhooking the air filter monitor plug/plunger or the mass air flow sensor. I did both of them. It almost seemed to run better ! How is that even possible? It didnt have as loud of engine noise or as hard of shifting as it had the previous 15 miles. Im stumped. I guess it has to be the sensor ? No codes and no CEL.... I keep smelling coolant too. It not leaking and theres no change of levels in the degas. Not sure if I may have a vacum leak possibly and causing the faint smell or I may just be getting crazy from this every day trouble shoot. Monday ! Im not changing anything and maybe they notice immediately.
I am more or less having the same issue. My immediate fix is turning the key to the on position (not cranking the engine); once the tuner fires up I go menu>diagnostics>continue>clear DTC’s; then crank the engine. Check engine light goes away, runs fine, not in limp mode. Just gotta do that every time I start her up until I can determine a permanent fix.
