Looking to get some gauges for my truck, but am not quite sure what color (silver, black, factory match, etc.) to get, so I figured I would turn to you guys. Post pictures of your gauges, preferably pillar mounted because that's where I am putting mine, and with a tan interior, but all are welcome to post.
EV-2's are not the Performax. The Performax use a ESP (brain) that mounts under the hood, all the sensors feed to it, and then only three wires go into the cab.
The EV-2's are more similar to most other standard gauges, but with a much cleaner install, and no boost lines or other crap to run into the cab.
Common Key on can run from one gauge to the next. Common ground can run from one gauge to the next. One lighting wire can run from one gauge to the next.
Then the trans temp has two wires, boost has three and the EGT has two.
best I could get I only ran 4 things out of the cab, boost tube, pyro wire and 2 wires for the trans sender other than those I dropped 1 wire from the pillar for the lights, 1 ground, and one key on power
Go with the Isspro EV-2's. 100% made in america, support our forums (you will never see autometer support a forum) and are always avalable for tech and questions.
as much as i have looked at the Isspro's i have not noticed that NONE of them are short sweep, until you mentioned it. i as well like the look of full-sweep much more than short sweep.
Those gauges you are running look killer btw!
Here are my glowshifts(yeah, yeah i know lol) would not recommend them....
Screw all this noise just get a damn Edge CTS with Pyro and be done!! I spent way too much money for Autometer Phantom II's which are led and the lighting has been playing out one by one only 4 yrs old.........
the back lighting on the trans gauge went out all of a sudden driving down the road one morning less than a month after install. needle still worked right, but no lighting. starting last fall the pyro doesn't save the color it was at when the truck was shut off. need to re-select the color ever time i start the truck. i liked the look of them at first but now they are to "ricer" for me. i also don't like changing the colors when ever i start the truck in the dark when the last time i drove it was during the day. i run the blue you see in the pic during the day and red at night. blue is bright as chit at night. red is nice b/c it is easily readable and more of a glow to it.
I thought about getting them for cheap pillar gauge set and switch them out for better gauges as I go but Im not sure I would be very happy having problems out of those gauges in a month.
I bought the glowshift set to start with and they lasted about a year before the trans went to having the lighting problem mentioned above and the pyro just quit all together. I like the fit of the pillar pod though and used it to house my autometers now.
I used Glow shift gauges for 5 years and never had a problem, and when they came out with Max tow I had to have. I installed my old gauges in my son truck
