I got in my truck the other morning after work and it wouldnt start.Every time I hit the key it sounded like it locked up and rocked the truck. Finally the motor rolled over once and that was it then acted locked up again.I talked to the guys at Ford and they said it might have been hydrolocked but I can get it to roll every once in awile and they said it shouldnt be the starter. It has a new flywheel so I dont think thats the problem, any ideas?
Well if you a have a breaker bar or a big ratchet, I would try to turn the engine over manualy just to make sure nothing is in a bind, and if it spins freely then your problem could be the starter, or weak batts, or simply a bad connection.
You could have sprung a leak to an injector o-ring, filling a cyl. full of fuel. Try to manually turn over the engine, & see if she's hydrolocked. As has been said before, go backwards in rotation if that's the case. You might end up pushing the excess fluid through into a manifold. When you've rolled it over, and freed it. don't wait for the glow plugs, or if it's a bad o-ring, the cyl will fill up before the plugs cycle off. Then, if it cranks over fine, stop & wait for the glow plugs before continuing.
I dropped it off at ford yesterday and they said they couldnt start it and at closin time they tried again just for the heck of it and it started and drove into the shop.Theyre supposed to tear it down and find out what it was today.
How about this crap....I just picked my truck up after more than two weeks at the shop...They put the studs in it and wound up chargin 250 over my deductible because they said ford wasnt wantin to warranty it because they thought it had mods and they wanted to cover their you know...Has anyone else run into this?
im not being a jerk..but 250 over is a DEAL..be happy they installed the studs for you..you are among the few..alot of dealer wont touch installing studs..
I know...I guess if you look at it that way its a darn good deal, but im just wondering if ill have another problem getting somethin warranteed since they had a big hold up on this job.
my friend got studs and a sneaky pipe instaled and it came out to around 300 dollars total. they said it was for the extra labor of the studs and putting in the sneaky pipe. He didn't complaign becuase it was hundreds less than anyone else
