Well i have been to Ford 2 times already this week to try and ask them what is wrong with my truck however they have been to busy and their only diesel mechanic is on vacation. I have had an EGR Cooler once before and just had the headstuds (ARP's) put on my truck less than 5k ago. Now i am loosing coolant and have alot of white smoke. I swear it is the EGR Cooler but Ford doesnt have the time and keeps blowing me off. I plan to drive to another Ford tommrow, about how long does it take to fix an EGR Cooler or Oil Cooler?
Yea im gonna order the delete kit next week, i took it to a different ford today and they are putting a new egr cooler on under warranty so ill have my truck back tomorrow
Do you have to reprogram if you delete the EGR cooler on an '04?
My damn work truck is back in the shop for the second time this year because of white smoke and water dripping out of the exhaust.
no. the egr system is mechanical..it does not require reprogramming to delete. you may get an CEL but on most 04's you are good to go.
