Hey guys.

I have noticed a weird noise when the engine is cold. its kinda like a chirping noise almost sounds like there is something wrong with the belt... but once shes warm it goes away. :poke:

any ideas? its not very loud but it is there.

Sounds like a bearing to me. Check the idler pulley for bearing noise by pulling the belt off and spinning it. Course it could be the alternator or anything else thats spun by the belt. Worth a shot. Pulleys should be pretty silent when spun. Rattling can sounds are bad bearings.

Could be that you just need a new belt.

As crowz said, bad bearings will sound like marbles rolling around in a tin can, or grinding. BUT the "chirping" does not sound like a bearing. Sounds like a loose belt.

I'd try a new belt first, if that doesnt fix it its time for a tensioner.
