I have been running terra grapplers for 2 sets now and am happy with them, but it seems a lot of members here are running the toyo mt. What kind of mileage are you getting with these? How do the do in wet weather? I'm ready for a new set of tires and am strongly considering these if they are going to hold up similarly to my terra grapplers. Thanks as always for the feedback.
Ive only got about 10k miles on mine so I cant speak much for longevity of the tires. However, they have handled pretty much every weather situation I've been in. Only real complaint I have is they are louder on the road than I care for, but they are not terrible. just have to turn the radio up a little louder on road trips LOL.
Im over 40K on my toyos and there is still probably another 15K in them atleast. While I havent run anything else, I love these tires Ive. Ive had no problems in any weather condition, including Alaskan winters where you are driving on ice for 3 months. They soud great, not too lound but have a nice humm...
All in all I would reccommend them to others for DD use, but as I said I CANNOT compare them to other tires as I have not run others.
My Toyo's were narrower than My Procomps even though they are taller so I know I lost some tread surface ( AKA wear spread) but Even My tire guy expected better from these Toyo's
I got 50k miles out of my first set of 37/13.50/22's and I liked them enough that a bought another set of the exact same tires. The first set had another 10k miles of life and I was able to sell them for $350.
Had 55k on my first set of 37's and still had enough tread to sell them. My 40's didn't even look worn after 20k, and my 38's are the same. All quiet, I just hear engine noise.
Great tire, don't have any issues in the sand, wet weather, or snow. In my opinion this is the best tire you can buy for a lifted street driven truck.
But, I don't think the smaller sizes last near as long as the larger 37"+ size tires. 13.5-15.5 wide. Less revolutions per mile and less contact width. So I wouldn't expect to get the same kind of mileage out of a smaller toyo m/t. I would expect them to be comprable to your terra grapplers
"got to say I am not impressed with only 20k I am already looking at replacing them and at 1800 bucks cash"
Have you had your frontend checked??? 45,000+++ miles for most everyone around here (San Antonio, Hill Country & South Texas brush country) with Toyo MT's. Ditto for Nitto's. Something just ain't right. Nearly every Ford SDPS forum and the Dodge 2500 CTD forums are getting 40-55,000 miles out of theirs as well...with some even claiming over 60,000 miles.
Best of luck finding out the problem because as you know tires ain't cheap these days.
I had a set of 38x 16 inches on my 02 lifted ford, never rotated them once, got 28000 miles out of them. I loved them. They hooked up great, rain, snow or mud. That's my 02cents.
I had 37 in toyo at's and they lasted about 50k.. started to get some dry rot before the wore out lol. were on the truck for 8years give or take.... I have toyo mt's and they change the make up of the tire so they are quieter driving around.. which is true.. friend has the same truck and tire..his are 6 years old. there louder and have been louder then mine since day 1.. they hook up well.. im running about 500whp and have no problems with them..
was going to get the terra grapplers but there not rated for f250 crew cabs Ive been told..
a friend cheapped and go the terra's and hes at 15k and needs to be replaced
i got 20k miles on mine, 37x24s and they still look new, they are not that great in the rain and break loose pretty easy when u lay into it but not as bad as other tires i have ran....overall i would buy them again this is my 3rd set (2nd on this truck), but next set i want a diffrent tire ill be going nitto trails or m16 if they are cheaper, which i believe they are....road noise is kind of loud at freeway speeds but nothing turning the music up on a road trip wont solve i like the slight huming noise for small trips its not to bad, my buddys 40'' m16s were quieter though.
rotate them often and they will last you, i cant stress enough ROTATE THEM...i never did on my old set and they started to separate i think(one lug high one lug low), shake, and were super loud
Well it seems like I'm gonna have to go much bigger to get good life out of the MT's (35" +) and I just don't think my leveling kit will clear that. Been looking hard at the at2's now. They are labeled as the extreme in the size I'm currently running 305-70r16. Which means they are cut more aggressively then the regular at2. Think I'm gonna go with them, but thanks everyone for the input. You all have saved me from a bad buy so to speak.
I've only got about 10k on mine and as far I'm concerned their a good off road tire with good on road manners.
I pulled a Dodge 1500 out of a cow pasture that was on the axles and had the wheels cut the wrong way, my truck was hopping and slinging baseball size chunks of mud, so I'd say they were hooking and cleaning out pretty well. Witnesses reported all 6 wheels were biting, they all thought the toyo mt's did really well in the south Texas gumbo.
