It's the first time I've changed them since I've had the truck which is right at 10k miles now and I've been running B99.9 for the last 5k. The filter up on the engine was pretty funky and well in need of a change. The lower wasn't quite as bad. Being the first time of course it came with a learning curve lol. I found out that changing the filters without disconnecting the battery trips the emergency fuel cut off relay
changed mine on the 6.0 for the first time a month or two ago
the upper one is nice, but man that lower one is a pain!
did not disconnect the battery, had no problems
Thats odd, I never disconnect the batts when changing the fuel filters on these trucks and have never had a problem. But I'll keep that in the back of my mind in case one doesn't start back up, lol.
Yeah, the top one is a piece of cake. The bottom one is awkward to get at but with several extensions you can come at it from beyond the cross member and it isn't to bad. If you guys had no problems I wonder what caused it to trip the fuel shut off relay. That honestly didn't enter my mind until I determined I wasn't getting any power to the fuel pump.
I don't know what the problem was but I had no power to the pump after changing the filter. Hit the reset on the emergency fuel shut off relay and everything was good. Stumped me for a little while cuz I sure wasn't expecting it.
