Got it yesterday and gave a pretty good drive today. Wow, shift on the fly power levels, and bad ass tranny files. Hands down Matt has done it again for the 6.4 like he did with my 6.0. This thing hauls serious ass compared to other files I have ran and is totally smoke free! Can't wait to see mileage figures.:dfpsn:
Im not sure. He said the no power was around 55-60 hp and it goes up from there. It definately feels much stronger than the 300 stock file plus the shifts are mint!
Yes you purchase the unlock code for your vin/mcc from h&s. Then you can load as many custom tunes as you want. Its the way to go.
Im not sure of the exact #s with the gearhead tuning but the top level is said to be in the 610-620 range. I actually ordered mine earlier but havnt gotten them yet. The files are supposed to be really good on the trans. With firm quick shifts but not to hard. I will report back as well as soon as I load them. There is another member here who will be dynoing the hd300 as. Well as the gearhead tuning on the same day . So we can get some solid #s to compare. But it sounds to me like we will have a new favorite.
This is some info I got straight from matt on the 3 trans files:
One is very early lock and shift (eco), a hybrid that doesn’t lock at light throttle until 55mph (hyb) and (reg) that locks at part throttle in 4th#on up but keeps the rpms above 1500 at all times.# it is load based shift and lockup, so it isn’t a set speed to lock like some tuning out there.They all lockup at wot 2nd#gear on up.
That is the only thing i dont like about h&s trans tuning it seems to lock and unlock right at the speeds I end up in traffic. the rest of the time like it though. going to have to try it out for sure.
Ordered mine yesterday! Cant wait! See how they run on the roads of northwest Montana. I currently been running hd300 for 10,000 miles or so. s1m. Appreciate all the good info fellers!
Made a 60 mile trip last night. Usually I have a pretty significant movement in my fuel gauge but it hardly moved at all. Shifting on regular is badass. It pulls so hard. Virtually no smoke either. This is all on the performance level. Have not tried the others yet. Well well worth the money.
Well on a 9 mile trip to work I can already say I like the transmission files. Seems to wake up after lockup also. Nothing over say 25% throttle yet. It cooled off quite a bit last night so I took it easy.
Hey just trying to figure out which trans file I have, I don't have mcc yet, and Matt said he only supports one trans file, can I look on my mini maxx settings and there is a trans # on there, is that what I need to know to get gearhead tunes? I just don't wanna buy the mcc if I can't get his tunes after
I am by far a rookie at this but.... Go to h&s MCC website. They have info videos to dial you in. You want to export files from your truck and email them to Matt moreorless. Then import them back on to your unit. Make sure you pay for a unlock etc etc. Watch them videos, it like staying at a holiday inn!
Whats the cost of getting Matts tunes? I went to his site and its not very helpful, plus dont know what im getting as far as hp setting, how many, etc. I know the mcc is 200$.
