wednesday while headed to my folks house for thanksgiving my wife lost the tranny in her 92 chev pickup. well we thought abouyt rebuilding it, while we tried to figure out what to do i said lets go look at trucks and see what prices are and such. after test driving a few 6.0s and almost buying an 04 cc lb manual f350 50Kmiles and a new engine. the sales man said that 7.3 i told you about just got here if you wanna go look at it. well i walk outside and i see its a friend of mines truck. me and the wife got in it and took it for a spin. i called my friend who owned it and aksed him everything about it. he said i traded it cause i wanted a new one. never had any problems with it. always serviced the engine and tranny on a regular basis and he can show me all the records for the truck. i know this guy takes very good care of his stuff. so i knew it was gonna be a good truck. its an 02 F350 CC SB Lariat 7.3 auto 4wd 111K miles. all stock never been chiped or messed with under the hood other then glow plugs, oil and one alternator. my wif loves it says its much easier to drive then the 6.0 manual CC LB i was gonna buy and i feel much better knowing i have a realiable engine for my wife to drive. so i went back in the dealership and said i want the 7.3, we sigened papers and i drove it home as is. not eveen detailed yet, but that will be done this week, hafta go back in and sign few papers at bank that wasnt open saturday wheni bought it. heres a few pics, more to come
my thoughts exactly. i knew it would tak me a month or 2 to coem up with them noney to do studs and egr delete on the 6.0, and thats if nothing unexpected comes up... so ya 7.3 was way to go. dont think im gonna mod it much, maybe a coolant filter, ccv mod, 4inch straight pipe, and thinking of some cab lights, still iffy on the lights cause wife dont want me drilling holes into cab... lol
just like the idea of the extra gauges, and the dagnostics. plus the backup camera addon would be neat. but am i just gonna waste my money with one of these? i have a tranny temp gauge on my dash so realy on need boost, and egt gauges.
i hope so. gonna get soem gauges on it soon, and a 4inch straight pipe. still debating on what air intake to go with. but idk if im gonna get a programer or not for it. think it'll just stay stock. has enough power for what i need.
your wife look at gauges and know how to read them? lol, my gf is terrible with this.... she left her ebrake on in her car and burned up the back brakes. they almost started on fire lol. apparently she didnt see the massive red ebrake light on the dash lol.
ya my wife knows how to look at them. and i will teach her what to watch. and people are saying get a fuel preasure gauge along with my boost, pyro, and tranny temp? go idea or not realy??
