When I hit the smallest bump or dip/rise in the road it darts away from a bump and towards a dip. This started happening when I changed from a 39.5" tire to a 43" I've got dual steering stabilizers and hydro assist steering and it still does it. All the joints on the steering are pretty much new. Along with the balljoints on the knuckles. I'm going to have the tires cut and balanced Friday along with an alignment hopefully it'll fix it I've also noticed I have to counter steer when making any turn at low speeds. And that was happening before the dual stabilizers and hydro assist. What are the alignment specs? anyone got any suggestions? Thanks for any and all help.
i believe its set around 1/4 right now. finaly found a place that can alighn it gonna try that in the morning. the wheel bearings are new along with almost every other suspension/steering joint on the front. let me make sure i understand what your talking about on the toe should it be set + or -
nice wording.... the funny part is that it drives fine and handled great before i put the larger tires on.. and sorry bud this ain't my first lift i've built.. although it is on a ford truck. oh and unless tgc "cobbles" there suspension parts together then neither is mine. the only thing i have made myself is the mount for my track bar. its mounted to the top of the axle perfectly in line with the drag link. but i'm also a welder by trade.. the front has a tgc 12" 4 link 10" coils and a 2.5" spacer. but thanks for the help man..
That's what I was thinking. I'm using the same wheels as I was with the 39.5 and these are actually about an inch narrower. But when coming out of a turn the wheels don't wanna try and straighten themself. It started doing that before I put the hydro assist on. What's the max caster setting?
Yeah. They have helped design it all. The reason the track bar mount is on top of the axle is because the factory location is to low. Plus I put heim joints on it and did away with the ball joint. The reason I added the hydro assist is because these tires are much heavier and harder to turn when sitting still. I started having a problem with it wandering once I changed tire sizes. Nothing else has changed other than the tire. Before I swapped tires I had the factor stabilizer only. With no problems.

I had it alighned and the tires cut and balanced. i had a the caster was around -3 and the toe was also negative. after getting the caster set to a + number and the toe corrected it drives great again. having the tires trued and balanced made a world og difference in the ride as well. i wasn't able to hook the hydro assist back up once they finished so i drove home without it or any stabilizer with no problems but thanks for the help gentlmen
Yeah... I knew it needed an alignment. I believe I mentioned I was getting an alignment today in the first post. Now we both know its not from the parts that where used. But thanks for the help man.

Maybe. I'm not sure that's what it is I'm taking a guess at it. Just a number I saw on the screen. I know last time I had it aligned the axle was rolled forward way more than it should've been. Finally found a truck shop close to me who could actually do it right. From what they were telling me it could go up to around 5 and be okay. So I'm not sure. What's it supposed to be set at?

This is why I hate posting anything on here... Some ppl wanna argue about everything.. And just try to make sure they're right. Yes an alignment fixed it.. I was 99% sure that it would.. Just wanted some other opinions on it. Maybe something I've missed. And no the part wasn't was was causing the problem. It not being aligned was. Because the tgc 4 link is still on there and it drives great now. But anyway I appreciate all the help.
my guess is geometry of the lift isn't right..never been a fan of Top Gun...
..heard a few people having issues..
...the reason I say geometry is..I've had my truck lifted for quite a few years..and running 41' s on a 4.5" lift...I've never had a hard time turning the wheel at a dead stop, never had an issue with death wobble, never had an issue with the truck following the divots in the road. .
...geometry difference between a quality lift and a cheap lift is monumental...and the higher you go..the more it becomes apparent.
...this is the reason I wanted a small lift, I didn't want the inherent issues that come with larger lifts...I love having tires that are bigger than guys with 10"+ lifts....on my little bitty 4.5"lift..LOL
