Just bought a 2005 Excursion Eddie Bauer 6.0 4x4 150,000 miles loaded. Paid $13,990. No leaks, dents and runs great.
I have been around excursions. Every one in my family had them (7.3) when they came out. They are great for long trips and towing.
It does have a after market exhaust 4-5", a airaid intake and a nice navigation/DVD. Sounds great and not annoying loud.
I have had it a week and Had to replace the hose from the turbo to intercooler pipe ($107 from ford) when it blew off while driving. Hose was cracked and clamp stripped.
I have a few questions:
1. What chip/programmer would be the best to help MPGs ONLY ( I don't care about how fast it is)
2. Would a chip/programmer damage the engine/trans just using it for MPGs and not hott rodding it?
3. The front rotors are warped and shake when stopping. What do you guys recommend for pads and rotors? I can get premium pads and 2 rotors at advance auto parts for $219+10% discount.
4. When cold it starts up fine but idles a little bit low/rough until I give it a lil bit of throttle and it goes away. What would cause this? Only happens when cold and for 1-2 mins.
5. Do I have a turbo back exhaust? Also I only see and muffler but no cat.
6. What brand shocks? They look old and probably stock. I ran lifted jeeps and blistens were one of the top brands.
Also if any one is 3-4 hours away from Fort Myers, FL I would willing to drive and trade my black/tan bucket seats for black/tan bench seat OR swap all my seats for a set of tan seats with the bench in the middle. Has to be in the same condition or better.
