ok so i have a 1999 f350 ext. cab long bed with 8" suspension lift and have been having a vibration problem while driving. at highway speeds it rides smooth but around town at lower speeds theres a rear end vibration. First thing i did to try and resolve problem was lower center bearing more than it was when i bought truck so i bought a 2" spacer and didnt solve anthing, next thing i did was reinstalled two 1/4" spacers that were there when i bout truck thinking that would solve it but no. then today i replaced center bearing all together still having the 2.5" spacer and still vibrates. Any other ideas on what problem may be? I honestly thing since everything else has been replaced must be the u-joints but looking for others imput.
Finally someone else I have been dealing with this same issue with my excab long bed also. I have a total of 8in the rear and I've did the same thing you did tried 0-3 in of spacers nothing worked...
think i have vibration figured out. tranny mount is broke. checked it today with prybar and tranny moves easily 1" from crossmember and rubber stays with crossmember
The ten inch block has a traction bar attached to it. Having the traction bar attached to the block is supposed to prevent the pinion from raising and reduce the load on the u bolts under hard acceleration.
Unless the ten inch leaf pack is done correctly the truck may still have axle wrap and ride worse than the factory leafs.
hey josh is your vibration only present while starting from a stop? have you tried adjusting traction bars any? maybe try tightening them a little more.
Adjusting the traction bars inward. Should be adjustable right?
