noob question here but my truck currently has a 8'' bds lift in it with 37'' tires (2001 f250 crew cab short box) and the tires will rub at full lock or if the suspension flexs when im turning, im not a fan of trimming ne thing so what i want to do is lift my truck at least another 2'' in the front, in the future i do plan on running 38s or 40s...exactly what parts do i need to buy to do this? and what website/supplyer can i get them from that deals with decent quality stuff or should i just cough up the cash and buy a bigger kit from icon?.. thanks
You can do a hanger and shackle kit on the front and a bigger block in the back to get the clearance that you need. Plus you can go up to 40's depending on how big a hanger and shackle kit and block you add.
The other option is to take the lift kit that you have on off, sell it and then buy a 12" lift kit.
Depending on what you do, once you go above 8" in your lift you will need to do a crossover steering kit as well.
so if i got this from icon and a cross over steering kit that would be all i would need to get another 3'' up front? and do i really need a steering crossover kit? then i could just go find a block and add it to the rear?
I find it hard to believe your rubbing 37s on 8 inches I think you might want to look into wheels as apossed to lift sounds like you are hitting the leaf springs might want to change wheels to a different offset or spacers
they rub on the passenger side plastic peice under the bumper (not sure of the proper name of it is) not on the leafs at all, they were fine when i had my old 20s and 37s but when i got new wheels i wanted them to stick out a little more then my old ones so they sit flush or about half a inch past the flares now.... if i were to trim the plastic a 1/4 inch they wuld be fine but down the road i want to run 40s cuz my truck looks like a donk with low profile tires right now and im not the biggest fan lol
the links i posted from icons site are the only things i would need? and some shocks i dont think mine will be long enough
I fit 37 with 1"leveling kit. Trimmed bumper and folded bottom of fender. My rims are 10.75 wide though. Gonna do 8" of lift and throw flares on.
Could always do body lift n raise bumper to save some cash.
