Hey all, I have 3 Stewart Warner gauges going up the a pillar. boost, Egt and trans temp. My question is both the Egt and trans gauge have never worked since I got the truck. The boost gauge works but get kind of bouncy once it gets past like 22 psi. Any ideas, are these gauges crap or what. I pulled them out and everything seems ok. The back lighting works but that's it. Any help is appreciated.
ok do you have a volt meter? if so check for continuity from the sending unit to the back of the gauge. if the wires are test out good than take a ohm reading across the sending unit. if it reads 0 across the sending unit than is bad.
Yup for sure just ohm out each wire then ohm out the sending unit the hotter the trans gets the more resistance u get. And bout the same for the Egt gauge. Thanks a lot for all the help.
