2007 F250 ARP studs, EGR delete, 4" MBRP, SCT tuner. I am only getting about 13.5MPG according to the IC. I drive pretty conservatively but I am running the canned performance tune. Do you guys think if I went with a custom tune such as the SPD and ran some cetane booster I could see some improvemt? What are you guys getting and whats your set up? I dont drive on highways but im also not in stop and go traffic.
2005 F 250 Harley w/20 in wheels... EGR Delete, Banks 4" Exhust.. Banks IQ... Winter Fuel with Ford latest flash i only get about 13.5 -14 around town, Banks Set to Level 2 With warm weather fuel and i am currently at 16+ Highway is 22.. I get this by staying out of the throttle and accell easy up to speed, truck likes 70-80 MPH .. I have found that high power levels around town dont help MPG.. but higher power levels on highway help since it carrys more power without the need for alot of boost to get up to speed. Since mileage went south when dealer flashed ECM.. i am going to send it out and have it rolled back and see how that works, then maybe a ficm flash from PHP. The best i ever got was 25-26 highway.. very steady throttle and fighting the urge to kick it in the a$$. Havent Really seen a big MPG improvement wth Cetane booster but i do run it since it makes the truck run smoother\quieter.
I average about 12mpg mixed city and highway, with some towing. Best I have ever got was empty interstate keeping it below 70 and I once got 19mpg running Vivians Looney Tune.
But I do have heavy tires, and mud terrains so that doesn't help, nor do the injectors I know are starting to have issues. Hoping for an increase when I get my Warren 155's!
I have PHP tune on my CTS evolution, got 12-15 in town, dependant on tempurature and length of trips (short trips and colder temps hurt mileage) On my hhypertech max energy, I used to see 17-22 hwy, went on a 350 mile trip last weekend and only got 15-16, until I added 3 degrees of timing via the CTS evolution, got 22 @70. Bill @ PHP is writi ng me a new tune with more timing at part throttle. We will check the results over longer trips this summer and report. Thanks to PHP for fantastic service, he answered my E-mail with a phone call within minutes. When I added the timing I noticed less boost at the same speed, and more "rattle", more like my old Hypertech max energy, when the new tune gets here it should combine the frugal cruise with the 120hp race specs @ larger throttle settings, I am also trying the same timing adjustment to the 80hp daily driver tune.
