6.0 exhaust and mpg question

Hey I just bought an 05 f250 and am looking at doing a muffler delete Saturday to improve fuel mileage. Should I just go ahead and remove the cat also to improve the mpg or will I not gain by taking both out. Thanks for any input I'll post pictures later.

I removed both. Idk what gains if any by removing the cat. But really opens it up. I'm running a 2005 250 as well with 4" straight and AFE stage 2 with 6 inch lift and 35s and I'm seeing 16mpg on high way. Hand calculated

So couldn't hurt to do both if your state allows it

Don't expect a noticeable difference. Less than 1 mpg, and that's if you're lucky. It sure does sound good though.

Would you think opening up the exhaust would hurt how many miles I can expect to get out of the truck. Mine just has the stock 3.5" pipe
