6.0 EGR delete question

I just purchased a 2005 6.0L 6 speed 4x4 F350 SWB. The guy told me the EGR had been deleted but I want to MAKE SURE it has. How can I visibly check this to know if I need to order a kit or not? I have dealt with 7.3 and 6.9 engines but this is my first 6.0.

Re: 6.0 EGR delete question

Look under the intake manifold on the right side and see if the cooler is still there, also see if EGR valve is still in the intake manifold.

Re: 6.0 EGR delete question

Depends on if they did a block off plate or a real delete look under the turbo on the left side under the intake and see if you see it

Re: 6.0 EGR delete question

It will be a long square tube under the passenger side of the intake man. It will have a blue or orange connection to your oil cooler if its stock still. Maybe take a pic and post it up on here? Or email it to ghohouston@hotmail.com

Re: 6.0 EGR delete question

It still has the EGR in it. Now to delete or try to keep it clean and working. How difficult is the deletion to do? I have heard an SCT or Gryphon programmer can solve the problem without deleting the EGR, any thoughts on that?

A full delete is the best way to go if your state allows it. Tuners will keep the EGR valve closed but it doesn't protect you if your cooler springs a leak. Even if you remove the EGR valve leave it plugged in for proper fan clutch operation.

Re: 6.0 EGR delete question

Just do a real delete if that cooler gets a leak you'll have more problems to worry about
