Hey - I just bought a like-new 2005 F250, long bed, crew cab. It has the FX4 package. The skid plates are welcome but I'd like to know the opinion of the Rancho shocks for my purposes. My use of the truck will be light to medium towing (maybe up to 10K, not more) and long distance travel, sometimes rough country travel on poor roads.
I don't intend to do any serious 4 wheeling (not as loooong as this thing is) but I can definitely see many long days bouncing down rocky desert and mountain roads miles and miles from support, so whatever I have I need it to work.
Is the Rancho suspension up to it? Or is it there primarily for the red shock boots to add a little bit of color to the undercarriage? I don't think I need Bilsteins? I had OME in my Land Rover and really loved the ride and durability.
I will put at most a 2" lift in it in a year or so, and will keep tire size in the 33"-35" range.
Thanks.
