6.0 shut off while driving down the road!!!

so it would not idle . Thought it was a fuel problem as i filled it out of my bulk tank in the rain. Added diesel 911 still nothin. drove it home 40 miles it stalled 12 times but started rite back and never missed a beat . Shut it off in the drive way then no restart . Took it to the shop . He said bad cam sensor and a faulty battery. replaced both still lots of codes and wont run . next code was crank sensor. Replaced and nothing. To make a long story short it was the number 8 injector. That was all. No one had ever herd of one injector doing this ?? anyone on here ???

I have seen a lot of 6.0 injectors fail, but not just one that caused it too die. It must have failed severly.

I had an issue two years ago Cylinder 6 Injector circuit low. Truck ran fine never missed a beat. Then took it out a month before Christmas truck cut off and me and nothing. Turned out that cylinder 6 injector back shorted through the ficm took out 5 other injectors, ficm harness, GEM module but never took out the ficm it did fail about 4 months later though. Lesson learned. Should have replaced the injector when it through the code

I have seen the injector harness short on the intake manifold bolts, causes random codes and stalling or no starts strange running concerns, The harness gets sqweezed under the air intake tube from the air filter. When you start taking it apart and moving things around the condition goes away, typical 6.0 wire chaf thing. When this happens it sets dtc,s for cam and crank sensors and sometimes injector circuit codes. Lots of wire chaffing problems on both the injector harness and engine harness in that area by the intake manifold,valvecover, on bank two under the air inlet tube from the air filter. But it sounds like they got it handled just a thought.

I'm actually having a similar issue with my 6.0. When the truck is cold, it runs fine; once it has warmed up however, it either shuts off or will act like it's running into a fuel cut at ~1700-2500 rpms... Once it shuts off, it will generally start right back up. Due to my operational schedule at work, I haven't had a whole lot of time to look at it and troubleshoot, so advice on where to start looking would be appreciated.

Mine was doing the exact same thing. Twas throwing all sorts of injector codes. Turns out the ficm was bad. Changed it out and all the injector codes went away.

Depends on what you mean when you say codes. When mine went bad I never had a check engine light and with a basic scanner no codes came up. With a Ford scanner it was tossing several different injector codes.
