I'm sure someone has thought of this before me, but why don't guys put s300/s400 twins or something of that nature like on dmaxs and 6.0s, 7.3s etc, just seems like it would be a much cheaper route to go.
It just seems that you could have a bigger setup for around 3-4k if a guy did the fabrication himself, versus 10k for a set of max power compounds. Maybe I missed something.
The reason that the Elite turbo's are so expensive is because they use a Precision ball bearing low pressure and a VGT high pressure. That's a lot of money in turbo's. You also aren't just paying for turbo's when you buy that kit. It includes quite a bit.
I know Dustin Woodhouse (Dzchey21) recently did a set of custom compounds using a VGT high pressure and an S510 low pressure. I doubt it was $3-4k in the end for him.
Rudy's is doing an S300/S400 direct replacement set of compounds for the 6.4. They are using Bullseye turbo's, which are much cheaper than Precision turbo's and VGT turbos, and I bet they won't be anywhere close to $3-4k. Doing a good set of compounds that will spool great, make good power, and work efficiently is not cheap.
I guess 3-4k is pretty cheap for something that would bolt on lol, do you know if Rudy will have a couple different size combinations? I'd be interested in something like that.
Ahh, very good point, I should have thought of that lol.
